Jay Pittenger

Jay's path into tattooing is a unique one, starting later in life than many artists. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012, he began his career as an industrial engineer, where he spent several years honing his skills in a technical field. It wasn't until he started getting tattoos himself that his passion for the art form truly blossomed. As Jay collected tattoos and explored the history, techniques, and culture surrounding the craft, he became increasingly drawn to the idea of becoming a tattoo artist. This growing fascination led him to make a life-changing decision in 2020, when he decided to pursue tattooing professionally. He began his apprenticeship while still working full-time, dedicating his free time to learning the craft and developing his skills. Over time, Jay has become proficient in a variety of styles, including fine line, blackwork, geometric, black & gray, and traditional tattoos. Jay takes pride in delivering high-quality tattoos that his clients can cherish.

In early 2025, Jay and his partner Suz relocated to the Capital Region, a place they have fallen in love with due to its vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere. Jay looks forward to working with clients who value an open-minded and inclusive environment. Jay is particularly passionate about collaborating with clients to create custom pieces that reflect their unique stories and personalities. He hopes to continue building a space where creativity thrives and every client feels comfortable expressing themselves through the art of tattooing.
